RESPECT
We value everyone who works with us and treat people with dignity and professionalism.
CONNECTION
We take excellent care of the relationships that have already been built in our industry as well as new relationships, given the opportunity.
MESSAGE FROM AL
While much has changed in the industry and our company since then, our values stay the same. We operate with integrity and honesty, keeping the relationships he built then and continuing them strongly today. Dad started this company as LG Trucking, hauling potatoes, apples and watermelons. Today we are LG Transport, hauling anything you can think of.
Our company principles are centered around direct, human communication. We treat people like people, not numbers. We want to enhance the quality of life for our employees so when we hire a truck driver, we know we are hiring their family too. Therefore we offer a welcoming space for all.
We strive to grow in our industry in innovative ways so we can increase our fleet and dispatch team to better serve our customers. We want to be the first thought for local producers looking to move their product. To do that we keep our trucks in mint condition at all times, and have a maintenance team that cares for our trucks and the safety of our drivers.
Our company focus is broad yet simple, if you have something to move we can move it.
MESSAGE FROM SCOTT
Our trucks and trailers get put to the test everyday running extreme climates, from the hot south to the freezing north and many poorly maintained roads in-between. Not only do we take great pride in the visual condition of our trucks and trailers, we also take pride in the mechanical performance of our equipment. After every trip we bring both truck and trailer in and conduct a complete inspection inside and out before it is given the green flag to hit the road again. We believe it’s because of this that we only get the most knowledgeable, hardworking & honest employees and can offer reliable, quality service.
Every time I send a fresh truck out on the road, I am proud to know that my team had a hand in that. My team and I gain a sense of achievement and satisfaction when we see one of our trucks on the road, doing its job, looking awesome. That’s what makes my job exciting everyday.
OUR STORY
We are a 3rd generation (working on the 4th), family owned and operated transport company. We are locally known as the Watermelon People because of our specialty grocery store, Fruit N’ More Store. Our whole business is based on relationships. The relationships we have nurtured from way back in the day and the ones we create moving forward are extremely important to us and the way we do business. We put people first whether you work for us, supply for us, or walk through our doors.
We operate in an agriculture heavy community with plenty of local farmers and producers. We get the opportunity to haul for many of them and are always looking to grow our customer base.
Lawrence Giesbrecht is the founder of our family owned company and he was willing to take big risks, still yielding results today. He could talk to anyone about anything, which is how we got started. He struck up a deal while looking for his next load (as you don’t want to haul anywhere empty if you can help it) to haul watermelons from Texas to Winkler, knowing the intense love of watermelons in our community. He didn’t have the cash to pay up front but that watermelon farmer trusted Lawrence enough to allow him to haul away on credit.
That’s how we continue to do business today, create trustworthy relationships and follow through with integrity and respect.
Not long after Lawrence secured his first load, a similar business in Gretna closed and he purchased their scale in effort to found another business in produce sales as a sister company to LG Transport, what is now known as Fruit N’ More Store.
We put heart into everything we do because that’s how it started. Why fix what ain’t broke? That’s not to say that we don’t value innovation and creative ideas; however we will always fall back on our true nature, create and nurture relationships that last using trust, respect and integrity.
